For over 30 years, Talisman has offered a vision of another world – a place of luxurious colour, a sense of theatre and peerless quality.
Founded in Dorset in 1982 by Ken Bolan, and opening in London in 2006, Talisman’s expansive art deco store on New King’s Road has become the go-to emporium for those in search of exceptional design from the last three centuries. Across a series of resplendent rooms dedicated to furniture, lighting, objects and sculpture drawn across the globe, Talisman offers a discovery-driven collection of works wherein personality is as highly prized as provenance, and every piece has its own story to tell.
Talisman London celebrates a decade as the destination for trailblazing antiques and the best 20th-century design. It is not so much an antiques emporium as the glamorous intersection between antiques, interior and fashion. Furniture ranges from vintage given a contemporary revamp to sought after original pieces. Bolan was one of the first dealers to source and sell pieces of exceptional quality, including works by great 20th-century masters such as Paul Evans, Karl Springer, Tommi Parzinger and Pierre Cardin.
Alongside these originals is Talisman Bespoke, a collection of over twenty designs each illustrating the scope and artisanship of Talisman's own workshops where all the pieces are hand crafted. Often inspired by 20th-century designs, the Talisman Bespoke covers generously comfortable Art Deco through to 1970s influenced upholstered chairs and sofas, to classic lacquered or brass commodes, side tables and cabinets.
