Pierre Cardin better known for his avant-garde style and space age clothing, was not only a leading light in the Paris fashion scene. He was also a prolific and important furniture and interiors designer.
Initially studying architecture but founding his eponymous fashion house in 1950 he used geometric shapes and motifs to create diverse and experimental designs redolent of the new atomic aesthetic.
With such a background it was perhaps inevitable that Cardin would turn his attention to the world of interiors. Using organic elements alongside new generation lacquers and innovative techniques his designs fuse precision and playful design to create pieces that truly stand the test of time.
