Although there is little documented about the Canadian designer Rougier we know that their designs were produced between 1970-80. Most famously specialising in lamps, their designs depict organic and naturalistic shapes. Ornate floral and whimsical shell-like designs made from acrylic resin sit alongside their tubular creations which comprise of tall ovoid and spherical lamps; a favourite of prop departments on film sets.
Featured in cult films such as ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Scar Face’, as well as ‘Star Trek’ these are truly iconic designs.

These tubular creations have also been used on set in high fashion photo shoots for various publications and designers.
The designs created from milky white resin, when lit, give a beautifully soft illumination. These pieces would fit wonderfully in a Hollywood Regency style space where their luscious curves could complement the sumptuous and luxurious interior. Set alongside low-lying furniture these bold accessories can make a fabulous statement.
