Talisman was a hugely popular Dorset antiques shop until, after 25 years of trading, it closed its doors last November. The good news is that its owner, Ken Bolan, has found a swanky new 16,000 sq ft location. The name Talisman remains, but the offering has developed to include mid-to-late-20th-century American furniture and lighting, mixed in with antiques and statuary. A mooch will introduce visitors to such names as Tommi Parzinger and Karl Springer, whose work is not widely available in the UK. Shown here are a 1950s red lacquer French commode (£1,950) with driftwood sculpture pieces (prices on request) and a 1960s Fish Shoal wall sculpture by Curtis Jere(£1,750), a Swedish Harlequin chair (£18,500 for a set of 10), a 1960s Canadian Rougier lamp (£2,900 a pair), and a 1970s mirrored desk by John Stuart (£2,400).
