Sergio Bustamante is a Mexican Artist and sculptor, he studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, but abandoned this pursuit when his talents and interests drew him to the field of fine arts and crafts.
Whilst Bustamante's works initially focused on painting and papier-mâché, his talents led, in the mid-1970s, to the creation of sculptures in wood and brass, many of which are reflecting animal themes. Talisman has brought his unique designs to the London market.
Each piece of the beautiful and extensive menagerie created by Bustamante has its own unique expression and life, giving it a distinctive quality, which makes collecting these treasures an addiction.
The distinctive patterns and motifs found in his work have led the Mexican government to select his designs for official gifts to state governors and to high profile personalities. Since the 1960s Sergio Bustamante has been internationally recognized in the world of creative arts and crafts.
