Talisman collaborates with Fromental

Talisman are excited to announce that they have collaborated with Fromental on an installation within our New King Road showroom. Featuring two of their new collections, launched in April ‘Braque’ and ‘Clef Des Champs’. The striking window displays have already had a magnificent response from our clients. These beautiful hand-created designs are custom made to order ensuring that there are no replicated motifs. They truly are a spectacle not to be missed.

‘Braque’; their antiqued piste design is created by tearing the paper into cubist inspired shapes to use within the large-scale collage panels. The design then has a stylised fig tree with climbing leaves hand-painted on top. The paper gives a wonderful chalky, exposed texture finish and comes in three different colour finishes as standard.

Deciding what to pair with this fabulous design to complement the abstract qualities was an exciting prospect with so much to choose from in our showroom. The pair of Paul Evans for Directional ‘Cityscape’ cabinets (thought to be a client commission in their own right) seemed to be a natural union; his own methods departing from techniques of mass production, creating a refined patchwork crafted with steel and brass. We also paired the design with a 1980s Pierre Cardin cabinet, entirely refurbished by Talisman which is flanked with two sculptural 1970s Curtis Jere table lamps equally complementing the geometric design.

Inspired by a Valentino gown, ‘Clef des Champs’ or ‘The Key to the Fields’ is an artwork that depicts a field of wild flowers in a magical way. The spring mist colourway incorporates background layers of translucent wash topped with vibrant hand-painted flowers, bees and butterflies with selected poppies finished with embroidery of the finest silk stitch adding further depth to the exquisite design.

Aiming to accompany this design with organic forms we decided on a large pair of 1960’s petal side tables hand finished in a rich muddled turquoise and copper patina. Decorating these tables are two impressive Murano glass table lamps picking up the soft Spring tones of the wallcovering. A glorious Art Deco bench with Ikat upholstery is the centre point to the design allowing the artwork to be shown through its wrought iron detailing. The final aspect of the installation is a Curtis Jere ‘Daisy in the wind’ wall sculpture which perfectly complements the natural romance of the finishing.

These striking fixtures will be on display within our New Kings Road showroom until mid-October, giving designers and private clients alike plenty of time to see the fabulous wallcoverings in all their glory.
