TONI FABRIS: Talisman is delighted to present an exceptional grouping of the work of by 20th century Italian sculptor Toni Fabris.
The son of a sculptor and ceramicist, Fabris was born in Northern Italy and attended a Licio Artistico before continuing his studies at the Accademia di Brera in Milan. His career flourished in the post war years and encompassed solo exhibitions in Milan and Amsterdam. He exhibited throughout his career, his work being celebrated by inclusion in the 33rd Venice Biennale in 1966.

It was Fontana who first recognised this prodigious talent. In his role as President of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts Fontana was described as a man who ‘creates bonds with artists, finances many initiatives, (and) offers his gardens to the most qualified sculptures’.

It was amongst Fontana’s significant collection that the works now curated by Talisman found their first home. After decades in private hands Talisman is pleased to make these masterful sculptures available for sale.

Formerly part of the 20th Century Art Collection of Senator Walter Fontana and housed in the grounds of his celebrated villa near Monza, Italy, Talisman are now proud to propose for sale 3 significant Toni Fabris sculptures: Grande Tensione Verticale 1950, Comparisone 1972, Grande Incontro 1977

The collection can be viewed at the Talisman showroom and online alongside a striking and witty abstract bronze dog (unsigned) of the same provenance.
